"Where Service and Convenience Don't Cost Extra"
Breyer
Foaled in 1850 near present-day Lexington, Kentucky, the aptly-named Lexington was one of the most influential Thoroughbred racehorse sires of his time. He won six of his seven races and earned $56,600 on the track (more than $2 million in today's money), then went on to lead America’s sire list for 14 consecutive years, plus an additional two posthumously. Over 150 years later, many of racing’s current stars can still trace their heritage back to this Kentucky legend. In 2010, an oil painting of Lexington by Edward Troye was adapted into "Big Lex," a blue Thoroughbred who is now used as a symbol of his namesake city.Breyer is excited to share in the 250th anniversary of Lexington, KY and bring you this unique, limited-edition ornament as part of our 2025 holiday collection!Pair this ornament with the book, Horse, A Novel by Geraldine Brooks, which is based on the true story of the record-breaking thoroughbred Lexington, Horse is a novel of art and science, love and obsession, and our unfinished reckoning with racism.
